Ralph and Lucy's! The best Italian hotdogs
around. We all tried to be the first to get their so that we could
get seats. That tiny store was always packed. If you didn't have
lunch money that day Ralph would give you credit. Ralph would always
be in front of the window frying those fantastic potatoes, onions
and green peppers, and the music would be blasting once the gang
got there. Ralph also made the best turkey and cheese subs in the
world. I often wonder what became of them. They were good people.
I remember when we all went on strike at Central High. We would
go to the auditorium every morning just to sign our names and then
leave. We were striking because we (the girls) wanted to wear pants
to school, and we won. I know I sound like our parents when I say
that "It seems like only yesterday...."
