I grew up in The North Ward. I lived on
Beaumont Place and on Mt. Prospect Ave. I went to Ridge St. School
( a great school) and Broadway J.R. High. I have allot of great
memories of my life there. I loved the subway ride downtown every
Saturday with my parents. My parents never had drivers licenses.
We ate lunch in Keilbs bakery. We always had lemon ice at Ting a
Lings. We also went on the paddle boats. I remember Two Guys, S.
Kleins and Park Records. My dad played tennis in Branch Brook Park.
There were so many wonderful things about living in Newark in the
60's and 70's. I am sure anyone who lived here then knows what I
mean. I really enjoyed looking at all the pictures on the virtual
