2. In the fall of 1939, I traveled daily from my Third Ward home on a bicycle to attend Essex Junior College at 327 Mt. Prospect Avenue.

On one particular day, enroute to school, I unintentionally got my front bicycle wheel in the groove of the trolley car track of the former No. 27 Mt. Prospect line, and was flipped to the pavement.

I was so dazed from the spill that when I remounted my bike to continue, I'd ridden blocks before I realized I was pedaling in the wrong direction.
