5. Dore Schary had a long, eventful, and success-studded in both Hollywood and on the New York stage. In Hollywood, he wrote, produced, or directed 372 films, nine of which either won Academy Awards or nominations. He was head of the MGM Studios for eight years. His Broadway hits included Sunrise at Campobello (which he also produced as a movie starring Greer Garson), A Majority of One, and The Unsinkable Mollie Brown. He died in 1980 at the age of 75.
