1. Isadore Schary and I, though more than a dozen years apart in age, both celebrated our bar mitzvah (confirmation at age 13) in the Anshe Russia Synagogue on West Kinney Street. We both also attended and graduated from Central High School, a long trek across High Street from our homes.
