5. During World War
II, Newark News writers were well represented on the U. S. Army publication,
Stars and Strips, which serviced American troops in Europe. The News reporters
on the S&S staff were Whitney Ball, John Davies, Paul Horowitz and Bill
May. Newark News reporter Frank Romain was with the Army News Service.
The News had a no representative on YANK -- The Army Weekly, but I, who covered random assignments for the Newark News before and after World War II, was YANK's South Atlantic Field Correspondent.
