2. "Front Page" is one of the all-time classic 'newspaper' stories of both stage and film. It premiered on Broadway on August 14, 1928, and subsequently was made into a film in numerous variations. The fast-paced wisecracking and vivid characters of this 'newspaperman' story caught the public's fancy and it was a runaway hit.

One reviewer of the play wrote: "There is something intrinsically telling, farcical, yet true about the portrayal of the press and its waywardness that emerges from the humor of the 'Front Page'."
