1. The Four Corners intersection, covering slightly over 13,000 square feet, in the first year of the tower's operation, was considered the world's busiest. In a 12-hour traffic study at that time, by the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles, the tower was passed by 23,851 automobiles, 4,098 buses, 2,657 taxicabs, 2,644 trolley cars, and 124 horse-drawn wagons.
