4. The first radio broadcast on Nov. 2, 1920 involved the election of a president. Coincidentally, the first television broadcast, approximately 18 ½ years later, also involved a president. The first television broadcast was by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on April 30, 1939 from the New York Worlds Fair. It was viewed by 300 people at remote New York City locations.
